Set right after More then Just, John and Maria have a conversation at the docks to just chat. If you have not read More then Just, this is set in Baltimore and around the middle of season five. Rated T just to be safe.

Fourteen years later, there is still a faint scar over her heart.

Bringing together Characters from "Homicide" and "The Wire". The Baltimore Homicide Unit undergoes several changes, including new detectives and a move into a new building. The only thing that doesn't change is those names in red up on the Board.

The memories were all there, the images flipping through their minds, faster and faster...almost like a photo album in which they could everything, but at the same time, the edges weren't as clear as they'd once been.

Department faces, redball cases, and personal lives in between, it didn't matter. They were still the first shift, and they were still murder police...a kind of makeshift family that filled in for the real ones that left them behind.
